Handmade Ant Insect Necklace in Sterling Silver & Copper
Insect jewelry is such a thoughtful & unique gift for the bug lover in your life! This necklace is perfect for science teachers, gardeners, entomologists or entomology students -- any insect lover that can appreciate the tiny magic of ants.
This bold and distinctive ant necklace is the perfect way to add a little unexpected punch to a chic & easy outfit; perfect when paired with an oversized white tee and your favorite black skinny jeans, but looks just as amazing with a more classic & clean look, like a chambray shirtdress.
Sterling silver necklace featuring a copper and sterling silver pendant, artfully etched with ants, busy at work.
Necklace chain is oxidized sterling silver, in your choice of style and length from 16" to 22": choose from a cable chain finished with a secure and easy "fish hook" style clasp, or a curb chain with a lobster style clasp. See additional photos for clasp and chain details.
This necklace is made to order, so please allow for 1-2 weeks for completion! Hand-crafted and assembled in the USA using good, old-fashioned silversmithing techniques, the pendants are carefully polished, then hand-patinated & then re-polished to give the copper back its gorgeous, bright copper glow!
Pendant height (from bail to base) is 1.75" (4.4 cm), pendant width is 7/16" (1.1 cm)
This necklace features a set of busy leaf cutter ants. Leaf cutter ants can deftly use their mandibles like tiny pairs of scissors, cutting manageable slices out of leaves & grasses. And just what do they do with all the clippings of leaves & grasses after they parade them back home, you ask? They feed their fungus gardens with them, of course!
All of my jewelry items are shipped in certified eco-friendly and fully recyclable jewelry boxes. And $1 from every sale is donated to protect invertebrates & their habitats.
