Copper and Sterling Silver Ant Dangle Insect Earrings
These copper and silver ant earrings feature a pair of leaf cutter ants. Leaf cutter ants can deftly use their mandibles like a tiny pair of scissors, cutting manageable slices out of leaves & grasses & flowers. They parade back home in a magnificent procession with their cuttings held high, creating dancing lines of color along the forest floor.
After preparing the art for this design, I use an acid bath to etch the artwork deep into the copper plates. The copper plates and sterling silver components are then soldered together using good, old-fashioned silversmithing techniques . The completed earrings are polished & then beautifully packaged, ready for gifting! These earrings make the perfect gift for the bug lover in your life. They also make great gifts for science teachers, gardeners, entomologist or entomology students -- any insect lover that can appreciate the tiny magic of ants.
These ant earrings are made-to-order, so please allow up to 1 week for completion before shipping.
